Project 3 Wearable Emotional Prosthesis
The wearable emotional prosthesis is an emerging bio-cybernetic interface designed to detect, interpret, and express human emotional states through externalized mechanical extensions. By integrating biosensors such as EMG (electromyography), this device translates subtle affective signals into physical movements or visual feedback. Rooted in posthumanist and affect theory frameworks, the emotional prosthesis challenges conventional boundaries between body and machine, internal emotion and external expression. It not only augments human emotional communication but also reconfigures agency, allowing users to externalize and negotiate their affective states in new performative and therapeutic contexts.
